I sure understand your statement re the poppy I love this painting. I am trying to paint sweetpeas that dont end up looking like weeds.

You know with your statement you just made my day, I think I've painted dozens of poppies and I'm not satisfied with one of them. :D

You have such a lovely technique. I love the bright, crisp petals of the flower against the muted background.:)

It's good. Leger! Un coquelicot!

I've tried acrylics but only painted four things.
I wouldn't dare try watercolours.
At school the paper was so bad the paintbrush made holes and the colours ran together. :(

Glad you like it  thanks for the :+fav:

I've been trying to get to grips with watercolour for a while now - I'm detrmined to master it :D
Acrylics are pretty difficult to use coz they dry so quickly! I've had a go at oils and may return to them quite soon....I want to paint that cloudy sky that I talked of in my journal! :blowkiss:

Yes, they dry fast but I only did very small things. I painted over the top when it was dry. That's an advantage when you make lots of mistakes, whereas watercolours..... :)

The problem I had was that the person who gave them to me had chosen very bold colours and they didn't really suit what I wanted to do.
I since bought one or two different greens and hope to try again. :)
